Welcome to the Dubarrie School of Dance.

The school was opened in 1973 by Yvonne Liddiard who is a Licentiate of The Professional Teachers of Dancing (PTD).  As well as running the school Yvonne has experience teaching in private nurseries, choreographing local operatic and theatre groups, examining and adjudicating at festivals.

The Assistant Principal is Joanne Liddiard-McGann, Licenciate PTD, Associate of the Society of Teachers of Speech and Drama and holds a BA Honours degree from the University of Birmingham.  Joanne has valuable experience working with children in nurseries, schools and local community projects, including children with special needs. Joanne has performed in many local operatic and theatre groups and is Principal of her own theatre group, Masquerade Musical Theatre.

The school is privileged to be supported by additional caring staff who are committed to teaching the pupils.  Their combined backgrounds of school teachers, nursery nurses and brownie guide leaders, provide us with a well rounded and experienced group of people.

We adopt a professional attitude towards teaching and always strive for better and higher standards.  Our overriding aim is to provide pupils with enjoyment and the opportunity to take part in learning a new skill and discipline.  The desire and commitment of a pupil is more important than their ability.  We take pupils from a variety of backgrounds and have a number with special needs.  We believe dance is available to all and hope that the enthusiasm, talent and commitment of our staff will have a lasting effect on all of our pupils.
